Mrs. Linda A. Ragusa, age 52, of Whitesboro, NY passed away after a long illness with her family at her side on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Utica, she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Joan (Wheeler) Jones. She graduated from Frankfort High School and later BOCES where she earned a nursing degree. She is survived by her husband; Steven; her mother-in-law, Dianne Ragusa of Whitesboro, who she affectionately referred to as her “neighbor lady”; a sister, Marilyn Daum of Deerfield; and a brother, Arthur Jones of Frankfort. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, especially acknowledging, Michael Jones, great nieces, great nephews, cousins; and her in-laws, Paul and Esther Ragusa of North Utica. She also leaves her canine “babies” “Butch” and “Minnie”. Linda was predeceased by a brother, Merrill “Cappy” Jones.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Linda’s funeral service and celebration of life which will be held on Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia Street, Utica, NY 13502 where her mass of Christian Burial will be offered. The family will receive visitors in church immediately following the funeral service. Interment will follow in Frankfort Center Cemetery on Mucky Run Road in Frankfort. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida Street, Sauquoit, NY 13456.
