Obituary for Michael Wolczanski
Michael J. Wolczanski 1959-2017
Michael J. Wolczanski, 58, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 12, 2017.
He was born in Utica on July 27, 1959, the son of the late Frank and Jeannine Gleason Wolczanski and was a 1978 graduate of New Hartford High School.
Mike worked for 19 years for Hemstrought’s Bakery and then 7 years at Sangertown Mall where he earned the 2004 Employee of the Year Award. He then went to work at Carmella’s Restaurant and for the past 9 years has been employed by the New Hartford School District.
Mike would give you the shirt off his back and ask nothing in return. If you needed your driveway shoveled or grass mowed he was your man and he expected nothing in return.
“Uncle Mike’’, as he was affectionately known to the entire Dudek clan, will be sorely missed at all the family gatherings. He was welcomed by the family and treated as such.
Mike was known for always riding his bike or walking to work everyday.
Thank you to those he worked with who would bring him home at night.
Mike’s favorite past time was bragging about his niece and nephew and cheering on the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his sister and brother in law; Kathie and Dr. Stephen Dudek, his niece and nephew; Abigail and Carter Dudek all of Clayville as well as a handful of cousins and the many members of the Dudek family.
Mike’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16 at 10:30 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 66 Oxford Rd. in New Hartford.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit.
