Obituary for Kenneth Roberts
Kenneth V. Roberts 1950-2018
Kenneth V. Roberts, 67, passed away on January 30, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born on December 27, 1950 in Utica, a son of the late Kenneth and Jane Furgol Roberts and was a 1968 graduate of Chadwicks High School.
He was also a 1971 graduate of Delhi and completed his plumbing and electrical training in 1972.
Ken then moved to Colorado where he lived for 9 years where he apprenticed and journeymanned with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 3.
In 1981 he returned to central New York, eventually purchasing his maternal grandparents farm on Paris Green.
Ken was employed at Revere Copper and Brass and later worked in the maintenance department at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare until his retirement in 2016.
He was an active member of the Paris Hill Volunteer Fire Department where he served as treasurer for many years.
Throughout his life he was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler and enjoyed traveling to various sites in and out of state.
His favorite place, though, was his farm and his land. He always enjoyed the time spent with family and friends sitting around the kitchen table or enjoying the outdoors while sitting at his picnic table.
Ken is survived by his sister; Pam and Ron Burlingame of Fulton, his brothers; Lloyd of South Carolina, Terry and Theresa of Colorado and Jan and Patricia of Tennesee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
His family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit on Saturday, February 3 from 2-5 with services at 5:00
