Mary A. Furner 1917-2018
Sauquoit

Mary A. Furner, 101, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home with her family at her side. She was born on June 2, 1917 in Paris Station, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Martin Heenan and was educated in the Doolittle and Sauquoit schools.
On August 29, 1934 she was united in marriage with Charles A. Furner in St. Patrick’s Church in Clayville, a blessed union of 50 years until his death on March 30, 1985.
Mary is survived by her 3 daughters and sons in law; Jane E. and James Brown of Albany, NY, Barbara and Arnold Timian of Dolgeville, NY and Ruth and Richard Lockwood of Scottsdale, AZ., her son and daughter in law; John and Elizabeth Furner of Sauquoit, 12 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter; Bonnie Furner her sister; Alice Eichler and her brother; John Heenan.
Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 17 at 9:00 at St. Patrick’s-St. Anthony’s Church in Chadwicks. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-5 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit.
